Approach to Therapy
People seek a therapist because they are hurting or dissatisfied in some way. When one is in emotional or
psychological pain, a good therapist like myself provides warm, careful listening in a non-judgmental fashion,
with the experience and training to help you understand the underlying dynamics and patterns that are
currently in force.  Then, with structure and support, we will co-create a plan that will inspire and create a
sense of excitement and hope; sometimes for the first time in a long while.

Momentum and growth then occur over a period of time, leading to more success, goal achievement, relief
of symptoms and, in general, a more pervasive sense of satisfaction that will usually feel durable.  This
process is not entirely pain-free, but with hope, increased insight, support and a treatment plan in place,
you will feel stronger, and with this rekindled strength, obstacles will seem more like molehills than
mountains.

Paramount to increasing satisfaction, competence and contentment in one's life is the ability to look at
one's self squarely and be open to changing some habits of thinking or relating that may have worked well
enough to help you survive to this point, but now, you notice a certain pervasive dissatisfaction with
relationships in general. You may yearn to socialize with more ease, like others you have noticed.  Or, you
don’t fulfilled with who you are, or are not sure you are on the right path in life.  When you give up
blaming others or circumstances for your position in life, you are ready for change.
